Evolutionary, Not Revolutionary
Motion capture as a technology is both mature and efficient across many
industries. The only failing of traditional motion capture systems has been the
processes that restrict creativity and the low level of detail.
After examining the benefits and problems of the traditional motion capture
process it became obvious that the core technology was both proven and
effective. Embody 1.0 was built around a simple concept. Take the existing
technology and improve the fidelity, improve the cost model and improve the
process. Embody is not revolutionary and does not introduce any dramatic
process or technology changes. A century of the automotive industry has proven
that the tire can advance dramatically but it is still round and made of
rubber. Like the balloon tire to tubeless tires for Indy cars, Embody is simply
the next great evolution of motion capture.
