CaptiveMotion uses a proprietary marker based tracking system that uses special
markers that are applied directly to the actor's skin.
We can apply over 800 markers to a face in roughly 30 minutes, and our markers
are unique in that they are flush to the skin and are rub/touch/sweat resistant
(actors can touch their faces, eat, drink, etc).
After an actor has been marked, we put the actor in front of high resolution
cameras that capture the face from multiple viewpoints. The positioning of
these cameras is very flexible which allows us to add additional cameras to
extend the capture volume, and to place the camereas in virtually any position
to get the shot that the director needs.
Once the actor is in front of the cameras, he/she is captured with synchronized
audio and video. We shoot as many shots as you like (our rigs can handle a
little over 4 hours of raw capture before we have to change out our drives).
Once the shooting is done, we’ll export a series of preview shots (raw video
data) for the director to pick out which scenes he’d like to see processed.
